Good afternoon, Wolves!

It was a great week at The Creek leading up to Thanksgiving Break! Last weekend, our Brain Bowl team competed in their first competition and placed third. Julian Dennis and Isabella Harrison earned medals, placing 8th out of 96 teams, at the National Science Olympiad competition. They were the top performing team in Anatomy and Physiology in the state! Our 8th grade field trip to Washington, DC is coming to a close, with our students returning early tomorrow morning. I have heard great things about the trip and that our students were continuously complimented for their behavior and engagement.

The second round of state progress monitoring (FAST PM2) for English and Math with take place on December 6th and December 8th. Please make sure your student gets a good night's rest, eats a healthy breakfast, and arrives to school on time these days. We will have incentives for students who show growth from their first progress monitoring to the second and will utilize this data to shape instruction, so please encourage your student to work hard on the assessments.

While our Veteran's Day Chorus concert was cancelled due to weather, our next concert is on December 6th. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

We are in the middle of our Charleston Wrap Fundraiser and are asking for everyone to make another push to help us reach our goal. As a reminder, students can earn cash rewards and classes with the most participation will be recognized with a catered lunch. Please sign up and share the link with family and friends. We have a number of large, schoolwide initiatives that are supported by this fundraiser!

There is no school next week, and our office will be closed all week, for Thanksgiving Break. I hope everyone enjoys the break with family and friends and takes time to reflect on everything we are thankful for. I am grateful to be a part of the Swift Creek community and am appreciative of everyone's help in making the start of the school year a success.

Have a great Thanksgiving Break. See everyone on Monday, 11/28!
