Lively Technical College Open House - April 25 (Flyers Attached)

Lively will be hosting several open house events over the next few weeks, including an introduction to their Aviation, Airframe, and Powerplant Mechanics program. This is an excellent opportunity for all SAIL students, as we offer dual enrollment courses at Lively for students interested in technical fields. Let your student explore options beyond SAIL so that we can ensure proper academic advising for his/her future. If you have questions, contact Lively Technical Center at 850-487-7555.

Tuesday, April 25 - Battle of the Bands
Our Music Department is hosting a Battle of the Bands on Tuesday at 6:00 pm in the cafetorium. Performances are expected to be amazing -- as always -- so come out and support our students as they rock out!

Thursday, April 27 - "Trashion" Fashion Show
On Thursday, join us at 6:00 pm for the Fiber Arts Program's annual Fashion Show in SAIL's cafetorium. This year, students were tasked with creating looks with unconventional and recycled materials. This event is FREE -- however, donations will be accepted at the door:)

Friday, April 28 - COMPASS NIGHT (Flyer Attached)

On Friday, April 28th at 5:30 pm, SAIL will be hosting Compass Night -- an evening designed to focus on curriculum, guidance, and academic advisement. This event is open to ALL SAIL students/parents, but is particularly beneficial for incoming freshmen, dual enrollment students, and summer school students. For incoming freshmen, this will be an opportunity to learn about curriculum pathways, SAIL expectations, and hear from our PTSO, and a few other special guests. In addition to the incoming freshmen, the following students should be present:

  * Dual Enrollment Students - There is a mandatory parent meeting to outline guidelines and expectations for students participating in dual enrollment courses with FAMU, TCC, and Lively. Important information regarding minimum requirements, student attendance, and collegiate transcripts will be discussed. This is also an open forum for parents to ask any questions.

  * Summer School Students - There is a mandatory parent meeting for all students who are recommended for summer school. We strongly encourage both parents and students to attend this meeting, which will include transcript audits, summer school requirements and progress monitoring, and attendance. A Q/A session will also be available for parents.

Light refreshments will be served. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Dr. Browning at [log in to unmask]

ALSO Friday, April 28 - LEON WORKS (Permission Form Attached)
ALL of our junior and senior students will be going on a field trip to Leon Works Expo -- an exciting annual event that connects hundreds of high school students interested in skilled careers with employers and academic institutions. Hosted by the Leon County Government and the Tallahassee-Leon County Office of Economic Vitality, this event will allow students to learn from individuals with local success stories and engage with employers in person to discover the career that best fits them. If you haven't already, please complete a permission form for your student to attend.
