In the spirit of open communication, I wanted to make you aware of an incident that happened on campus today. There was a video depicting one of our students that circulated our campus. Law enforcement is involved and there is an open investigation.

I strongly encourage you to monitor your child's cell phone and all other smart device usage. You want to make sure you are fully aware of who they are talking/chatting/texting with and what they are talking/chatting/texting about. There are SO MANY various messaging apps that students use to chat with each other. It is very challenging to keep up with each one.We must remember once we texted it and/or post it, it is out there for the world to see. Someone is waiting to take a screenshot to show others especially when it is inappropriate.

I want to always be transparent with you regarding things that affect our entire campus. There was never a threat to our faculty or students. Campus safety is always my top priority.
