Greetings Riley Bears,

This past year and a half has shown that even through unprecedented challenges we are stronger when we stand together. I am extremely grateful for your support and flexibility over the past two years. I feel blessed to have been able to return to John G. Riley Elementary School, the elementary school I attended, to serve as principal. As a Riley student, I was taught that education is the key to developing who you are in life. Education is the one thing that can never be taken away.

I hope that my service as principal has supported student achievement and mitigated barriers along the way.

At the conclusion of this school year, I will transition to the role of Director of Title I for Leon County Schools. Mr. Maurice Stokes will be appointed as Riley's new principal.

Riley is a special place filled with authentic and immensely caring individuals. Teachers and staff serve students from their hearts. Lives can only be changed when there is a genuine and heartfelt connection formed between school and home.

Thank you for entrusting what you hold most precious, your children.

Sincerely,

April Knight
Principal
