Dear Parents:

Welcome to the 2023-24 school year! Tomorrow is the day we have all been waiting for. Here are a few reminders for a safe first day:

  * Please remember that traffic is always congested around Leon High School. So, if you or your student are driving to campus, plan to get there by 7:15. Otherwise, your student will likely be late to class.

  * The only safe entrance into our campus is the main entrance on Tennessee Street. Please, please avoid the bus ramp area entirely. You do not need to risk being in an accident with a school bus because I assure you the bus will win!

  * Your student's schedule is in FOCUS, so they should be able to identify the "who" and "where" for their first period class. However, there are comprehensive lists posted in the main lobby for students to see who their first period class is. If they have NO first period class listed on their schedule, they may go to the Main Office for assistance.

  * Please understand that we will not be able to change students' schedules on the first day because we will still be enrolling new students. The schedule change process will start on Friday.

  * Information concerning school lunches will be sent out tomorrow or Friday. Please know that we will not let your student go without lunch!

It's going to be a great year! Thank you for all you do to support your student at Leon High School!

Go Big Red!
