Hello Hawks Rise Families,

As we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day this Monday, January 16, I would like to congratulate two students who were chosen to represent our school as the MLK Positive Dreamers and Doers. These two students were chosen because they exemplify the ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Chimara Onuoha and Ishanth Pottigari were recognized at the MLK Breakfast at the Civic Center this past Friday morning.

We would also like to congratulate Harrison Burgess for representing Hawks Rise at the District-Wide Spelling Bee this past Thursday. Way to go, Hawks!

  * We were happy to see our students working so diligently last week on the ELA assessments. This week students will be completing the Math Progress Monitoring assessments.

K-2 will begin complete Star Math between Tuesday and Thursday.

4th and 5th grade students will complete the Math assessment on Wednesday, January 18.

3rd grade students will complete the Math assessment on Thursday, January 19.

The last day for make-up for all assessments will be January 27.

  * Parents can access their student’s Individual Student Reports for FAST grades 3-10 via the state’s Family Portal. The reports for Grades 3-10 should populate there approximately a day or two after the student tests.

Parents can access the state’s Family Portal via the FOCUS Parent Portal by clicking the [cid:image002.png@01D9107A.857B38C0] icon on the right side of their screen next to each student.

Our program (IB Prep) is an advanced program of study designed to enhance the educational experience of students in the traditional curriculum areas. We also aim to develop an appreciation for the human race, our planet's health, social environment and our effect upon the world! Sign up for shadowing today to see if our program would be a good fit. Check out the attached flyer for how to sign up and upcoming open house dates or check out our website for more information.
