There are 9 days left in this school year, 3 of which are early
release/final test taking days and we are releasing students at 11:20
a.m. on these 3 days. Students must be mindful of their behavior and
dress for these last 9 days. There is no more ISS so the consequence of
OSS (out of school suspension) will be assigned when infractions occur.
It is our hope that students will have appropriate behavior as reviews
for finals will be taking place as well as fun end of the year
activities. We look forward to enjoying these last days with our
students as we concentrate on academics and promotion requirements.

Barnes & Noble Book Fair and GMS Summer Reading List
Support the Book Fair at Barnes and Noble this Thursday, Friday and
Saturday by purchasing your summer reading books. We have attached the
summer reading list for our 2009/2010 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. This
is a great time to get your books and raise money for Griffin. On
Saturday, May 16th, Studio Production Club will perform at 2:15 p.m. So
come on out and enjoy Griffin's talented performers while you shop for
your summer reading!
FCAT Results
The Florida Department of Education, due to budgetary considerations, is
no longer making individual student FCAT results available via the FCAT
Parent Network website. This year parents can get their child's FCAT
results by coming to the school or waiting for distribution of the
hard-copy Student and Parent Report. For further information, please
contact Paul Felsch at 487-7833.
Community Conversation
Superintendent Pons will be hosting a Community Conversation at Cobb
Middle School, Wednesday, May 20th at 6:00pm.
This conversation will focus on the issues of Internet & Cell Phone
Safety-especially important as our students get set to leave for the
summer and may find ample time to be texting and working on
Facebook/Myspace.
Special presentations will be given by:
* Charles Brock, Inspector Specialist, Office of the Inspector
General, Florida Department of Juvenile Justice
* Lee Pierce, FDLE Computer Crime Center
* John Hunkiar, Leon County Schools Director Safety
