We had a extremely busy day at Cobb Middle School yesterday!

We started the day with health screenings for our sixth graders.  Because of the wonderful help from our parent volunteers, we were able to finish screening over 300 children before noon.  A HUGE thanks to all of you!

It was exciting to see so many parent come to  the Washington D.C. meeting!  Students always look forward to their senior trip.  They come back tired but bubbling with excitement!  The deadline for making your reservations for that trip is September 30.  Don't let that date sneak up on you!  If you were not able to make it to that meeting, you may contact Mrs. Cockrell at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> for more information.


Later that evening, we celebrated Open House with you.  It was so nice to see so many parents here.  We LOVE our parents!

Reminder-

We will have a Magnet parent meeting next Thursday beginning at 5:30.  We will entertain you with academic information like middle school progression, end of course exams (EOC), parent portal, etc.  We will also provide light refreshments as we mingle and become better acquainted.  Lastly we will have breakout sessions to share information about our magnet field trips.  You can expect Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Curry to talk to you about the sixth grade trip and Mrs. Osborne and Mrs. Gass fill you in on seventh grade field trip details.  You will find permission slips for both trips attached to this email.

Sixth grade parents-there has been a slight change to the permission slip that you received last night.  Please have your child bring field trip money to Ms. Patrick in room 13 rather than Mrs. Davis in room 4.  If you get confused, don't worry-we can keep it straight on our end.


There is something wonderful about spending family time on the weekends, don't you think?
