There were lots of fun pajamas around school today as we "Followed our Dreams to be Drug Free!" Tomorrow students will "Take PRIDE in themselves to be Drug and Bully FREE by wearing their favorite TEAM shirt or their Astoria Park Panther Shirt as we end our RED RIBBON WEEK activities.

We continue to make progress with having parents register their child for FREE books and prizes with our Book Blast Fundraiser. This is such an EASY way to get more books for your child at home. Register an account for each child that attends this school. You only need to create one list of 10 or more names and email addresses or phone numbers that can receive texts for all the children. Please be careful that the email addresses and phone numbers are typed in correctly and can receive outside emails and text.  Once you do that and they are verified, students will get the 3 prizes and are registered to be in the drawing for the 2 treasure chests that remain and the iPad.
Remember to let those friends and family know that you turned in their information so they will look for a contact message from Books are Fun. The more money donated in your child's name the more books they get. This is also a fundraiser for your child's teacher. The more students in their class that participate in the fundraiser the more money they get to use on a shopping spree on the books are fun website to get books, STEM supplies, and other materials for the class.

The last day to make donations to student's accounts will be November 5th. Later in the month students will get the rest of the prizes and we will have a book opening celebration.
