       There is so much to share that we have

Part 2 today.

We have a FREE parenting class for

parents starting next week that offers dinner

and childcare with tutoring while you learn.

                       Hoodies at School

Parents, we are having quite a few issues with

 students wearing the hoods on their

heads in the school building. We are in no

way saying that they should not be worn,

 they just cannot have the hoods on in the

 building. This also pertains to hats and

beanies. Please help us by reminding your

child to be mindful of head wear when they

 are at school in the building.

  Peanut Butter and Jelly Jam

Beginning April 2nd - 30th, it's the annual peanut butter and jelly drive. The food collected will be used to help feed students in our district during the summer months. If you would like to help out, please send in plastic containers of peanut butter and jelly for our collection boxes. How many pounds can we collect? (see attached)

                         EXTRA EXTRA HOT OFF THE PRESSES! Commonsense Parenting Classes

We have a wonderful opportunity through a collaboration with Boystown for our Astoria Park parents. This opportunity will bring a heightened awareness to parenting strategies and skills to support parents raising students in today’s society in the hopes of building stronger family relationships. This group will meet once a week for six weeks from 5:30pm-7:00pm starting Monday, April 4th. It will include free childcare, tutoring, and dinner will be served at each meeting. Some of the skills taught are:

  *   Teaching self-discipline

  *   Encourage positive behavior

  *   Preventing problems

  *   Correcting problem behavior

  *   Teaching self-control

  *   Improve relationships

If you are interested, please fill out the attached form and return it to the classroom teacher by March 30th. The class is only open to 25 families so don't miss out.
