What’s Happening!
Our next book fair will be April 24-27. This is our yearly “Buy One Get One Free” fair. More
information will be coming sent home soon.
If you would like to volunteer, please call or email me (921-0091; [log in to unmask] If
you do not have a volunteer form on file this year you can pick one up at the front office. All
volunteers must have one on file and be cleared before volunteering.

The media center is open from 4:00-6:00 P.M. Monday – Thursday evenings. Please stop by to
check out books, do research, work on homework, and use computers for projects.

The last day for students to check out books from the media center is April 28th. We will start the
Book Swap on May 1st. Students can bring in a book from home that they no longer want and
swap it for another book on the “Book Swap” shelf. Books must be in good condition to be
swapped. They can swap only 2 books each day.
Third-fifth grade students voted for their favorite “Sunshine State Book”. A list of these books can
be found on our website on the Media Center page. The “World According to Humphrey” received
the most votes with “Trading Places With Tank Talbott” close behind. Other favorites were
“Gooney Bird Greene” and “Gregor the Overlander”.

The Leon County Reading Council is collecting new or slightly used books for schools in
Mississippi that were damaged by Hurricane Katrina. There is a box in the media center where
you can drop off books.
