This Week’s Activities



April 1st – Spring Holiday - NO SCHOOL



April 2nd – Student Course Selection

Beginning Tuesday, April 2nd, students will complete course request for the 2024 -25 school year. Course selection will take place during their English class. Students that do not have an English class on campus will meet with Mrs. John during another class period. The tentative schedule is as followed:



11th Grade ~ April 2nd – April 5th

10th Grade ~ April 8th – April 11th

9th Grade ~ April 15th – April 18th



Each week is specific for the grade level listed above. Course selection will be individual student meetings. Please have your student review the elective form previously handed out and come armed with any questions they may have during their designated week.



Dual Enrollment

Upcoming Juniors and Seniors~ TCC Dual Enrollment opens for Summer 2024 and Fall 2024 on April 1st.  Please make sure your student has met with Mrs. John if they have met the qualifications and are interested.



SAIL will be offering dual enrollment courses on campus in English and Math through our partnership with FAMU. If your upcoming junior or senior is interested in taking these dual enrollment classes and have not taken the PERT, please have them see Emily in the media center. There are 25 open spots per class (slots fill with seniors 1st). Interested students who have met the qualifications must meet with Mrs. John to receive the application they need to complete for FAMU to be enrolled in these classes.

Leon County Summer Training Program



It’s that time again for the Leon County Summer Training Program! This program is designed to provide valuable employment skills to students between the ages 14 to 24 who reside in Leon County while earning an income. This year Leon County Government has partnered with CareerSource Capital Region to offer participants more professional development opportunities through the Learn, Earn and Advance Program (LEAP). This program will help youth learn important skills such as goal setting, budgeting, time management, customer service and so much more.  The program will run from June 10, 2024, through July 12, 2024. Students will have the opportunity to work 20 hours a week and earn $12.00/hour.

2024 Leon Works Expo!



ALL Juniors and a limited number of Seniors will attend the 2024 Leon Works on April 12, 2024, this year. Save the date. Permissions slips will be dispersed on March 19th and are due back to Mrs. John on March 29th. Transportation and lunch will be provided. We have reserved 80 seats. 1st preference to Juniors!

Chain of Parks Art Festival ~ April 20th – 21st
LeMoyne’s Chain of Parks Art Festival is an outdoor fine arts festival which brings some of the top artist from all over the nation to Tallahassee. Along with seeing amazing art, people will be exposed to a wide variety of live entertainment on the main stage, local food trucks, vendors, professional chalk artists, folk art and much, much more. This two-day art festival is free and open to the public. Tutoring Services

If you are interested in your child receiving additional academic support, tutoring is available on Mondays and Thursdays after school in the media center until 3:30 pm. Students can get help in all core classes (and some electives), work on group assignments, study independently, and utilize school technology.
