It’s Spring Break This Week!

 

Spring Break is HERE! Students are out of school this week! School offices are also closed this week. Students return on Tuesday, March 19^th.

 

Announcements

 

Friday, March 8th - End of 3^rd Quarter Grading Period

Friday March 8^th was the end of the 3^rd Quarter. When students return from Spring Break, we will officially be in the 4^th quarter grading period. Report cards will be released on Wednesday, March 27^th at 4pm.

2024 Florida Senior Thespian State Festival - March 13^th – 16^th

In November, our very own Troop #5899 participated in their first International Thespian Society District 1 Festival. It went GREAT! Students performed and scored so well in all their events that they’re qualified to go on to the State Thespian Festival. The State Thespian Festival will be held on March 13^th – 16^th in Tampa, FL.

 

CNA registration for Current Sophomores!

 

Reminder to students who have their CNA applications, please get them completed over Spring Break.

 

10^th graders interested in CNA, it isn’t too late! See information below:

Lively Technical College offers dual enrollment on our campus for their Certified Nursing Program (CNA). This is a 2 yr. program beginning in the 11th grade. The CNA program  provides coursework in Basic Healthcare Worker (11th grade) and Nurse Aide and Orderly as well as Phlebotomy (12th grade). Students who complete both years will sit  for the certification test and have the potential to graduate as a certified CNA. Our SAIL students have a 100% pass rate on the CNA certification test each year. Certified students leave SAIL with the ability to secure work as a CNA right out of high school!

The requirement for the program are as followed:

• Complete application in its entirety by the extended deadline of April 1^st. This is a HARD deadline! No applications will be accepted after this date.
• Unweighted grade-point average (GPA) of a 2.5 with a grade of "C" or higher in ALL academic courses
• Two teacher recommendations
• No more than TWO referrals per academic school year as defined by the Code of Student Conduct

There is an interest sign-up sheet in the front office. Mrs. John will meet with each student individually. Students may also reach out to Mrs. John for additional questions.

 

2024 Leon Works Expo!

 

ALL Juniors and a limited amount of Seniors will attend the 2024 Leon Works on April 12, 2024, this year. Save the date. Permissions slips will be dispersed on March 19^th and are due back to Mrs. John on March 29th. Transportation and lunch will be provided. We have reserved 80 seats. 1^st preference to Juniors!

Chain of Parks Art Festival ~ April 20^th – 21^st

LeMoyne’s Chain of Parks Art Festival is an outdoor fine arts festival which brings some of the top artist from all over the nation to Tallahassee. Along with seeing amazing art, people will be exposed to a wide variety of live entertainment on the main stage, local food trucks, vendors, professional chalk artists, folk art and much, much more. Tutoring Services

If you are interested in your child receiving additional academic support, tutoring is available on Mondays and Thursdays after school in the media center until 3:30 pm. Students can get help in all core classes (and some electives), work on group assignments, study independently, and utilize school technology.

If you have questions or concerns about your student's grades or progress in a specific class, your initial contact should be with your student's teacher. Teachers are always the most knowledgeable about classroom assignments and activities and are always happy to provide timely updates or clarification as needed.
