LEADERSHIP & SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY FOR CURRENT JUNIORS

 

 

 

Talquin Youth Tour

Talquin Electric Cooperative is looking for high school juniors to serve as delegates for the 2024 Talquin Youth Tour. Twenty-four student-representatives will be sponsored with a visit to Florida's capital city for a two-day, overnight conference on February 7-8, 2024 and awarded a scholarship for post-secondary education. Students will learn about the cooperative business model and Florida’s legislative process. The Talquin Youth Tour includes a visit to the House of Representatives’ Chamber and a session in the Supreme Court. During this experience, four students will be chosen to represent Talquin at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Youth Tour in Washington D.C. on June 16-21, 2024

  Students selected for the Talquin Youth Tour will be notified in early January 2024. Washington D.C. Youth Tour    

  representatives will be announced during the Talquin Youth Tour banquet in February 2024.

 

·         The submission deadline is no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, December 15, 2023.

 

 

Students are selected to represent Talquin based on community involvement, academic achievement, public speaking, and proven leadership skills.  In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

a)      Students must currently be enrolled as a junior (11th grade) in a local high school or home school.

b)     Students must have a close relative who is a Talquin Member through business or residence.

c)      Students must currently live in Gadsden, Leon, Liberty or Wakulla County.

d)     Applications must be RECEIVED by December 15, 2023 no later than 5:00 p.m. You may mail the application directly to Talquin at the following address:
