SAIL vs. Crossroads Academy Volleyball Game is Wednesday October 4th @ 2:30 in the gym.
SAIL vs. CCS Volleyball Game is Friday October 6th @ 2:30 in the gym.
Announcements
All 10thgraders will take the PSAT on October 25th at 8 am. Juniors may sign up to take the test for National Merit Scholarship qualification for a fee of $18. Junior slots are limited. For more information contact the main office during office hours.
Application Help Sessions (Seniors Only)
On October 10th and October 13th from 7:30 - 2pm including lunch time, our Guidance Counselor will be in the Media Center hosting 2 help sessions to assist students with completing their university applications.
LCS Canvas Parent App
The Canvas Parent app allows parents to "Observe" the course activities of their child(ren). The Canvas Parent app provides important class information for parents/guardians and is available for parents using iOS and Android devices. This app is user friendly and can be configured in a few minutes. Please see attachments for set up.

Leon Works Junior Apprentice Program
Earn a paycheck while gaining hands-on experience in a skilled career field!
Now accepting applications from all Leon County High School Juniors and Seniors attending a Charter, Private, Public or LCS Virtual School!
The Leon Works Junior Apprenticeship Program is an opportunity for Leon County high school juniors/seniors to prepare for a skilled career - those jobs requiring more than a high school diploma, but less than a four-year degree. By the year 2026, over 70,000 skilled jobs will be available in the Leon County area. To prepare students to fill these jobs, Leon County Government is partnering with CareerSource Capital Region and Leon County Schools to provide students with job readiness training and work experience!
For one semester, selected students will work in a Leon County department as a Junior Apprentice shadowing and assisting a county staff member in a skilled career field that the student is interested in pursuing. Junior Apprentices will also complete CareerSource Capital Region's LEAP training to prepare them for entering the workforce after graduation. In addition to gaining valuable work experience and training, Junior Apprentices earn an hourly salary and elective credit toward their high school diploma. Please directions and website below.

Once a student submits the application, the School Guidance Counselor will receive an email notification of the submission. The School Guidance Counselor will need to click on "Open request" to verify the student's eligibility to participate and the accuracy of their school information entered. Although applications are accepted year-round there are cutoff dates for each semester to ensure adequate time for application review, interviewing and paperwork processing. Application deadline for this upcoming Spring semester is October 31st.
Please Note: All applications must be verified for eligibility and accuracy by the School Counselor to be accepted.

Senior Parent Night has changed! The Senior Parent Night will now be October 17th at 6pm in the media center.
Senior Fee is $80. Please see the attached Senior Fee letter for more information.
Senior T-shirt design is due November 30th.
Grad Bash is April 20th. More information will be coming soon!
Tutoring Services
If you are interested in your child receiving additional academic support, tutoring is available on Mondays and Thursdays after school in the media center until 3:30 pm. Students can get help in all core classes (and some electives), work on group assignments, study independently, and utilize school technology.

If you have questions or concerns about your student's grades or progress in a specific class, your initial contact should be with your student's teacher. Teachers are always the most knowledgeable about classroom assignments and activities and are always happy to provide timely updates or clarification as needed.
