Good morning, Wolves!

Thank you for your patience as we attempted to update our list serv, which caused less frequent communication. There have been a number of celebration-worthy events taking place at Swift Creek over the past few weeks. Our Fall sports teams- football, cross country, volleyball, and cheer have all been performing at a high level, with our football and volleyball teams playing in the upcoming championship game and playoffs, respectively. Our students completed their first statewide assessment progress monitoring in Math and ELA and they performed very well! Open House was a success and our first Super Howl Out took place. Students have settled into their schedules and routines and we have had a great start to the year!

Middle School is a critical time in the development of students. While teaching academics and appropriate social interactions typically show as a priority, it is equally important that we provide students with opportunities to develop their interests. Swift Creek has excellent athletic and fine arts programs. We also provide many clubs and organizations that students can be a part of. I encourage your students to try new activities by participating in our clubs and programs. Our teachers sponsor Math Club, Science Olympiad, Lego Robotics, National Honor Society, Brain Bowl, Black History Brain Bowl, Spanish Club, Student Government, Yearbook, and more. Please visit our website and school calendar for more information.

Today, the Florida Department of Health is conducting their annual 6th grade health screenings during the day and our second Wolf Walk will take place after school. There is no school on Monday, 9/25, with students returning to school on Tuesday. Next Thursday, 8/28, is our Fall picture day. Students should bring home ordering information in the next few days. Next Friday, 9/29, is Go Gold Day in Leon County, in support of the fight against pediatric cancer. We are encouraging all students, faculty, and staff to wear gold on this day.

Thank you for a great start to the school year, Go Wolves!
