Hello Hawks Rise Families,

It’s hard to believe that September is over! It feels like the month just flew by. 

 

Information

• Skill of the Week—Cooperation-Working together to accomplish a goal.
• The Lockdown drill this month will be held during lunchtime as we practice to be prepared at any time of the day.
• Be Bold-Go Gold!  The Penny War was a great success!  Thank you for working with your children to help fight Pediatric Cancer. We are still working at the bank to get a final total

and to see which grade level won the challenge. Look for a final total next week.

• This is the last weekend to read Stuart Little. Students should take the test by October 2.  We will print the list on Oct. 3 to prepare for our chat on Thursday, Oct. 4.
• The Principal’s Chat for October will be for our K-2^nd grade students. The book is Give Bees a Chance by Bethany Barton.  We have copies in the Media Center ready for checkout. 1^st and

2^nd grade students should take an AR test, and Kindergarten students should draw a picture of something they learned from the book.  Be sure to include the student’s name on the back of the picture

and then turn these pictures in to their classroom teacher.

• Let’s continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.  See the attached flyer for a community event.
• Also see the attached flyer for another fun community event this weekend.
• October is Bully Prevention Month, and this year’s theme is Be an Upstander. Our Guidance Counselors, Mrs. German and Mrs. Vogt, will be supporting our teachers and students as we

work together to prevent bullying.

• Red Ribbon Week is October 23-27!  Let’s celebrate together.
