Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year!  We are excited t o welcome our incoming 9th grade students, new students and returning students! We look forward to a wonderful school year!  Attached to this message is a Schedule Correction Form.  Please view it and complete if you feel a correction needs to be made to your schedule.  Please see below for schedule correction guidelines:

 

Schedule corrections may be approved for the below reasons:

·         Remediation requirements according to state law

·         Transcript review

·         Schedule conflicts

 

Schedule changes will not be approved for the below reasons:

·         Parents requesting certain teachers

·         Student has changed his/her mind about elective classes

·         Order of classes

·         Student requests to lighten his/her academic load

·         Incomplete or unreturned course requests

Additional Information:

 

Supplies/Lockers:  We are often asked what students should bring to school.  Start with the essential items – backpack, binders, folders, paper, pens and pencils.  Your student's teacher will let them know of anything specific they may need for each class. 

 

StarMetro’s STAR Program: This program provides LCS students in grades k-12 free transportation with a STAR Program Card.  Visit this site for information on how to get a STAR Card for your student:  https://www.leonschools.net/STARCard

 

Breakfast/Lunch: Breakfast and lunch is provided free to all Rickards students.  Please note that outside food delivery services are NOT allowed on campus.  Students may bring lunch from home. 

 

Campus Supervision: The campus opens for students at 7:00 am and supervision ends at 2:20 pm, unless attending a supervised club, activity or athletic practice.
