Good morning, Wolves!

 

As we approach the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year, I wanted to provide a few updates.

• Our Fall sports have upcoming camps/ tryouts.  All students participating students must have a current Activity Participation (AP) Form and a current physical on file.  Please visit https://www.leonschools.net/site/default.aspx?PageID=53561 for more information and to access the appropriate forms.
• Cheer (Coach Celestine Gregory, [log in to unmask]) - Tryouts will be held Wednesday and Thursday, 8/2-3 from 4:00-5:30 in the Dance Room.
• Cross Country (Coach Chris Zimmerman and Anthony Walker, [log in to unmask])- Optional conditioning will be held 8/8-9, Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:00-5:00.  Tryouts will be held 8/10-11, Thursday and Friday, from 4:00-5:00.  Make-up tryouts will be hold on Monday 8/14 from 4:00-5:00.
• Football (Coach Patrick Wise, Chris Barkve, and CJ Watkins,  [log in to unmask]   Please see the attached document for a pre-season camp held 7/25-7/28, Tuesday through Friday, 4:00-5:30.  Tryouts will be held 8/2-8/4 , Wednesday and Thursday, from 4:00-6:15.
• Volleyball (Coach Paige Lee and April Rosenau, [log in to unmask])- conditioning 7/25-7/27, Tuesday through Thursday, from 8:00 AM-10:00 AM in the gym.  Tryouts will be held 8/2-3, Wednesday and Thursday, from 5:00-7:00 in the Gym.
• Schedules were mailed out to families the week of July 4^th.  We appreciate everyone who has sent in change requests.  We will continue this process until Friday, August 4^th.  Changes will be based on seat availability and we cannot accept specific period requests for courses.  Since these original schedules were mailed, some schedules were modified as courses were added to accommodate our larger enrollment.  Final schedules will be available through FOCUS before the start of the year.
• Tuesday, August 8^th is Orientation Day for Leon County Schools.  High School orientation is from 8-10, Middle School 10:30-12:30, Elementary 1:00-3:00.  Please have your schedule printed/viewable from FOCUS on this day.   We will have the ability to print individual schedules, but it is a time consuming process.  We are asking our new and 6^th grade students and families to meet in our gym at 10:30 for a brief introduction.  Orientation will officially begin for all students at 11:00.  Students will have the ability to walk the campus and their schedule, meet their teachers, and ask any general questions about the new school year.
