I can’t believe that the school year is winding down and we are sharing information about our 8^th grade promotion ceremony!  This group of 8^th graders has been a pleasure to have at Swift Creek.  They are leaders on our campus and will be missed.

 

Our promotion ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, 5/18, at 6:00 in the Swift Creek gym.  Doors will open at 5:30.  Students will receive a flyer with specific information, but there are several items to share in advance.

• PTSO is offering celebration bags for our 8^th graders.  Please see the attachment for more information.
• 8^th grade students that are participating in our promotion ceremony have met their academic requirements.  8^th grade students will return their Chromebooks prior to the ceremony.  Any student who chooses to attend the ½ days the week of 5/22- 5/24 will not be allowed to bring backpacks to school.
• Our 8^th grade students will be staying on campus after school and will be supervised until the start of the ceremony.  They will be rehearsing during this time, so it is important that they are in attendance.
• Students are asked to wear their promotion shirts, pants/ long skirts to the ceremony.  They do not need to wear this to school and will have time to change before the ceremony. 
• Parking is limited for this event.  We ask, that when possible, you attempt to carpool with family members.  We will be utilizing our main parking lot, bus loop parking, and parking on our field next to the gym.  Sheriff Deputies will be present to help direct parking and we ask that you follow their instructions for a more manageable entry and exit from the campus.
• Seating is also limited for the event due to the size of our 8^th grade class.  We have space to accommodate two guests per student, but understand some families may have more guests that would like to attend.  We ask that you are mindful of these limitations and make necessary arrangements.
• Anyone that needs seating accommodations (Wheelchairs, etc) should contact Ms. Givens at [log in to unmask] by Monday, 5/15.
