Although a student is gifted and smart, we must always assess their maturity level when we sign them up for additional scholastic and community opportunities. We never want to overwhelm our students; We want to cultivate a love for learning and civic duty. However, prematurely assigning students additional scholastic or community-based opportunities can often lead to a distaste for it. We must always evaluate if the opportunity is good for the stage of maturation that our student is in.  Good opportunities can be great opportunities -- if the timing is right.

Please remember this when you sign your student up for good opportunities.

Sincerely,

Quashier S. Flood-Strouble
