The Leon County Schools’ Title I Office is administering the Parent and Family Engagement Survey for Spring 2023. The survey allows our school and our district’s Title I Office to understand the
aspects of the parent/family and school relationship. The information gathered will be used to guide continual improvement within our school to better serve you and our students. The survey administration period is Monday, April 10, 2023 through Friday, May 19, 2023. The Parent and Family Engagement Survey is available online and by paper in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Swahili, and Arabic.
Parents/guardians can select their language preference by clicking on the appropriate link or QR code. Paper surveys may be used for parents/guardians who are unable to access a computer or device with internet connection.

Students need to bring their Chromebook fully charged and their charger for these tests. PERT Testing
The PERT used to qualify for Dual Enrollment, will be offered on the days listed below. Dual Enrollment requires a 3.0 minimum GPA and completion of Algebra
2 in order to take a math through Dual Enrollment. The PERT test is accepted by TCC and FAMU. It is not accepted by FSU for Dual Enrollment.

Please see the attached IB/AP Exam Schedule for May 2023. TCC is graciously hosting our IB and AP Exams this month, and we are grateful to them for their continuing support of our school and our students! Please see the
attached map for directions to the specific building in which we’ll be testing and the parking lot students and parents should use during IB and AP exams. IB students need to remember that they must complete all IB Exam Papers for the subjects in which they

The 2022 IB Diplomas and IB Transcripts have arrived from Cardiff, Wales, UK. 2022 IB graduates or their parents can pick them up from Dr. Williams in the front office at Rickards. Please email or call ahead so Dr.
Williams can leave your IB Diploma and/or IB Transcript at the front office for you, in case he is not available when you come to campus.

Rising IB Juniors/Seniors that want to take IB Chemistry SL/HL next year- It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to contact Ms. Figueroa

for your summer homework packet before 2:45pm on May 19th. Dr. Hall's AP Biology students- Make sure all your work in Canvas and College Board (My AP Central) is made up by May 19th at
2:45pm. All IB and AP Science classes are busy reviewing material for exams which start May 1st- DON'T FORGET YOUR CALCULATORS FOR THE EXAMS. If you do not attend your AP Exam
you will have a FINAL in the class, otherwise IB and AP Students are exempt from their science final and your final grade will be an average of your 3rd and 4th nine weeks scores. Social studies students have been busy during the start of testing season. Most of our social studies AP and IB tests were taken this past week. Students will find out their scores in July.
Next week IB History students will take their exam on Wednesday and Thursday (May 10-11) and AP World History students will take their exam on Thursday morning (May 11).
All other students have been working hard to finish up their curriculum and prepare for their EOC exams and final exams coming up in a few weeks.

AP Exams continue next week (the schedule is attached to this message). Below is information regarding AP Exam testing:
You should bring the following items to the exam room in no larger than a gallon
size zip lock bag or a clear stadium bag:
·
Up to two approved calculators with the necessary capabilities if you are taking an AP Biology, Calculus, Chemistry,
Environmental Science, Physics, or Statistics Exam only. Visit
AP Exams Calculator Policy to learn more about the calculator policy for each of these
exams and for a list of authorized calculators.
·
A ruler or straightedge only if you are taking an AP Physics Exam. Protractors are not allowed.
·
Pens (black or dark blue ink) and No. 2 pencils will be provided (you may bring your own-no mechanical pencils)
·
A Jacket/Sweater/Sweatshirt (some rooms are kept very cool).
·
A small, healthy snack and water to drink during a brief break during the test session.
You should not bring the following items to the exam:
·
Phones, smartwatches, wearable technology of any kind, laptops, tablet computers, Bluetooth devices, portable listening
or recording devices—MP3 player, iPod®, etc.—cameras or photographic equipment, devices that can access the internet, separate timers of any type, and any other electronic devices are prohibited in the exam room and during breaks. School-owned digital
recording devices are allowed only for the AP French, German, Italian, and Spanish Language and Culture Exams and the AP Music Theory Exam.
·
Books/Book Bags, compasses, correction fluid, dictionaries, highlighters, notes, or mechanical or colored pencils
·
Rulers or straightedges (these are allowed only for AP Physics Exams), protractors, Scratch paper, Computers,
Reference guides, keyboard maps, or other typing instructions, Calculators (unless it’s an approved calculator for AP Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics, or Statistics), Clothing or shoes with subject-related information, Ear plugs,
Clipboards Arrival Time:
Approximate pick up time is 11:30 AM for 8 AM exam administrations and 3:30 for Noon exam administrations for
most students. The timing of each exam varies. |

The Rickards Track & Field Team has been having another great season. At our District meet the boys earned 2nd place with a one point difference and the girls earned 2nd place
with a four-point difference. We continue to have boys and girls reach new Personal Records each week. During the district meet Darius Jones broke the school record in the Pole vault clearing 13 ft! At our Regional meet the boys placed 4th out of 25 schools and the girls placed 9th out of 25 schools. Our athletes that have advanced to state include: Taylor Nance Makayla Caldwell Camille Armstrong Boys 4x800 relay Boys 4x400 relay Sheldon Richardson Justin Greenwood Kamari Jones Zavion Jackson Randall Pompey And with school records in the 200 and pole vault Antonio Giddens and Darius Jones.
