Hello Hawks Rise Families,

 

Happy May!  We are off to a busy start for our last month of school.  Testing went very well this week.  Thank you for making sure your children were rested and ready.  Next week will be round two with our  3^rd -5^th students taking the FAST Math assessment.

 

• May is Mental  Health Awareness Month, and May 8-12 will be LCS Mental Wellness Week.  Please see the attached calendar for some positive ideas to practice at home.
• AR ends on May 12 and all library books are due back that day.
• Congratulations to Mrs. Franklin and our STEAM Bowl team for their outstanding work at the district competition. They placed 3^rd in the Brain Bowl, 2^nd in the Engineering task, 1^st in the combined score, and 1^st Overall!
• The Skill of the Week is Tolerance-appreciating and respecting differences in people.
• Reminder—Kindergarten registration is open!  Be sure to register early.

Testing Information from FDOE

For both the FAST Grades 3-10 and Spring B.E.S.T. EOCs, there will be one week (May 1-8) when scores will not be not reported in the Family Portal due to internal validations. After May 8^th the scores will be reported in the Family Portal within 24 hours from the time the assessment was completed.

 

For FAST 3-10, a simple ISR including a longitudinal chart will be available in the Family Portal in early August. For B.E.S.T. EOCs, a simple ISR will be available in the Family Portal in mid-July. Please note, a longitudinal chart is not applicable to EOC assessments.

 

The Star K-2 scores will be available in the Family Portal after the testing window closes. You may expect to see these results in mid-late June. Please continue to provide parents/guardians access to their student’s K-2 FAST results per the means you have already utilized for the previous progress monitoring windows. While ISRs will not be provided for the K-2 assessments this school year, we are working to make viewable/printable K-2 ISRs available for the 2023-2024 school year.
