Parents,

Just some reminders of deadlines fast approaching.

                                   [cid:c3c5986b-85a5-4017-ad90-3f7372f77909]

It's PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY TIME!
We are in the last few days of the PBJ PLZ drive that ends on Friday April 28th. If you have not sent in your PLASTIC containers yet there are only a few days left to do so. The classrooms are having a contest to see who can bring in the most between today and Friday to win an ice cream treat. Please help your child's class out by sending some in before the end of day on Friday.

Title 1 Parent and Family Survey
Your child should have brought home the family survey on Monday for you to complete. Please send it back to school with your child by Friday May 19th. You can also complete the survey online by using the QR code that is attached to this email. Thanks in advance for doing this so that we can use the information to make our Title 1 schools better.

                              Looking For Library Books

Parents, please be on the lookout for missing library books at home. ALL library books MUST be turned in my MAY 12TH. If you need to pay for one, please send the money with your child to school. Let's work together to not have $1000's of dollars' worth of books not returned to the media center. If you are unsure if your child is missing books or how much you need to send, you can email Mrs. Dorband at [log in to unmask] to find out. Any books that have been in this library for over 3 years will be charged at half the price. Books are very expensive so please do your part in helping them find their way back!

TO: All Fifth Grade Parents

Please check your Parent Portal for information regarding uploading your two Proofs of Address for the 2023-2024 school year.

It is school board policy that the proofs of address have to be uploaded or emailed to the Leon County Schools Office of Admissions ([log in to unmask]) for students transferring from elementary schools to middle schools, even if your child is approved for School Choice.

Fifth Grade Address Verification

We are excited about your student getting ready to complete 5th grade! With the end of the year fast approaching, we wanted to make sure you are aware that in order to be in compliance for middle school, per *LCS Policy 5112, you must submit two proofs of residency, regardless of which school your student will be attending.

Submitting your Address Verification is easy!

  * Go to your FOCUS Parent Portal account and follow the steps to fill out the form and upload two proofs of residency.

  * Please note: As a 5th grade parent, if you try to log into your FOCUS Parent Portal, you will not be able to access any of your student’s information until the Address Verification is complete.

The acceptable Address Verification documents are as follows:

Two proofs of residency (one from each category):

  * Homestead exemption, mortgage deed, lease, rental agreement, or property tax record -AND-

  * Current electric bill, or activation notice is acceptable (dated within 30 days), vehicle registration, or government mail. (Note: drivers' licenses and voter registration cards are not accepted as proof of residency)

If you have an extenuating circumstance, please email [log in to unmask] and we will assist you in making sure you are in compliance.

From all of us at the LCS Office of Admissions, we wish you a great end to your 2022-2023 school year!

Sincerely,

The Office of Admissions

  * Policy 5112 v. - STUDENT PROMOTION TO NEXT LEVEL When students are promoted to the next level, from elementary school to middle school or from middle school to high school, the parent/legal guardian must provide current proof of residence in order to obtain a schedule prior to promoting to the next level.
