SAIL Family,

Welcome back! We hope that you all were able to enjoy a great Spring Break! Please see the list below of announcements and happenings at SAIL:

Monday, March 20th - NO SCHOOL - Teacher Inservice Day

Tuesday, March 21st - Students Return to School
We happily welcome our students back to campus on Tuesday! As a reminder, Tuesday also marks the beginning of the 4th Nine Weeks Grading Period! Report cards will be released on March 29th at 4:00 pm via Focus.

Wednesday, March 22 - 23rd  - NCR/PERT Assessment
Our juniors will be taking Florida's Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT) on Wednesday, so please be sure to have your student to school on time to ensure an optimal testing environment. The PERT is used to adequately assess students' academic skills in mathematics, reading, and writing to determine students' placement into appropriate courses at the collegiate level. PERT is often used to determine student readiness for dual enrollment, so while students cannot Pass/Fail the PERT, we encourage students to take the assessment seriously.

NCR will be for a small number of upper classmen. Test-takers have been notified.

Thursday, March 23rd - Young Frankenstein @ Theater of Tallahassee (Flyer Attached)
We REALLY hope you will join us at the Tallahassee Theatre on March 23rd for the first get together/fundraiser for the SAIL HS Foundation. It will be a first-rate production with lots of friends and laughs. Seating is limited, so please don't delay.  If you can't come, please consider buying a ticket for a SAIL student to attend. The SAIL High School Foundation supports SAIL and they need your support now!

Leon Works Junior Apprenticeships - Applications Due March 31

Leon County Government continues to enhance its Leon Works Junior Apprenticeship Program by expanding program eligibility to include all Leon County high school juniors and seniors who attend a public, charter, private or Leon County virtual school. The County is now accepting applications for the program for the Fall 2023 semester through Friday, March 31 at LeonCountyFL.gov/JRApprentice.

In partnership with Leon County Schools and CareerSource Capital Region, the program provides Leon County high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn hourly wages while building valuable workforce skills. The new policy, which went into effect on January 1, 2023, now provides high school students who attend charter, private and virtual school, along with public school, the opportunity to learn skilled trades while getting paid.
