Attention Parents: A New Free Workshop:
“The Future of College Admissions Testing”

This
free workshop is sponsored by SolutionSkills and will take place on Thursday, February 16th
from 6:30pm-7:45pm at Dorothy Oven Park, 3052 Thomasville Road. This event will benefit all high school
students and parents interested in current and future roles of the SAT and ACT.
Our featured speaker,
Mr. John Barnhill, is a frequent presenter at national admissions conferences and he currently serves as trustee of the College Board and as a member of the Higher Education Senior Leadership Council of the ACT. He will discuss the use of testing in
admissions as well as all the factors that are considered in the holistic review of applicants to competitive colleges.
Why should parents and students attend? The use of the SAT (or the ACT) is changing, but at
least in the state of Florida, it is not going away. While test scores are no longer required at many schools, they are still being used for other things: scholarship programs like Bright Futures, Honors Programs, placement and much more.
