Hello Hawks Rise Families,

It was another wonderful week with our Hawks! Our students continue to rise to the high expectations of Hawks Rise, and I love to visit classrooms to see learning in action. This past week I observed students reading about Ancient Greece, writing Haiku poetry, drawing pictures about their favorite thing to do at recess, working on math skills with teachers before the morning bell, and helping a friend sound out words, just to name a few of the amazing activities that happen on our campus every day. This is why teachers and staff love our jobs, even on rainy Fridays 😊.

I’m sure most of you have read about the terrible earthquakes in Turkey recently. One of the most severely impacted cities, Hatay, is the hometown of one our own Hawks Rise parents, Tarik Dogru. Fortunately, his immediate family is safe, but the city is devastated. I know that many times families are searching for ways to assist others in our world so I have attached a fundraising flyer created by Dr. Dogru. Please keep the people of Turkey in your thoughts as they try to recover from such devastation.
