SCMS Family, It has been a privilege and blessing to be a part of the Swift Creek Family for the past 10 years. I have NOT found a more caring, supportive and exceptional school
family than The Creek. Today I shared with our faculty/staff/administration that I have made the decision to retire at the end of this school year. Though my family has encouraged me to do this for a while, it has not been until recently that I have felt
at peace in making this decision. Being blessed recently with our third grandchild, with all three grandchildren coming within the last two years, has led to this recent decision. I want to be there to support my children and grandchildren during this special
time in our lives.
As I shared with Superintendent Hanna, and our school family today, I never had a goal to be a principal – in my heart I am and will always be a teacher. God had a different
plan for me, one I am so humbled by and grateful for. I have been so very blessed for the learning opportunities my role as principal has brought to me, along with the friendships/relationships that I will forever hold dear.
I look forward to ending my career, and this school year as we have always done at The Creek – knowing it is a privilege to serve our students and families, and cherishing every
moment of every day.
With a full heart, Sue

“Every time I am asked what is the most important job in the world, I always answer teacher! Teachers are the people who hand out life chances for everyone… Our society needs
to value the fact that quality teachers inform and shape quality students who in the future become quality community members. This is what education is all about.”
