Saturday School was a huge success!  We are excited to see so many of our Falcons taking advantage of the interventions and remediation that we are providing as a proactive step towards their educational progress.  Here’s a few reminders to keep everything running smoothly:

  1. Supervision begins at 7:45 a.m. – students must be here no later than 8:15 a.m.  All doors are locked at 8:15 a.m.
  2. Drop off and pick up is at the bus ramp.  Please exit to the right on Zillah Street to keep traffic moving.
  3. Students should plan to attend as often as needed, until they complete their recovery.  Completion depends solely on student motivation!
  4. Please bring your Chromebooks, paper and a pencil with you so that you are prepared and can access resources that will aide in your success.
  5. We are currently on a wait list.  Questions?  Contact Sheree Brown at [log in to unmask]

Valentine's Dance! Dance lesson included! -Falcons with great behavior are close to our heart! We want to show them some love…. WE REALLY NEED HELP WITH DONATIONS!!

For the second nine weeks, we will be celebrating our Falcon Card Students (those with all 3’s and 4’s in citizenship and no OSS for the quarter) with a Valentine’s Day Dance on Monday, February 14 from 2:15- 3:50pm.

We could use your help getting ready! Here is what we need:

  1. Valentines Decorations! (Streamers, Balloons, Hearts, Table Cloths, Plates, Napkins, Backdrops for Pictures, Flowers, etc.)
  2. Donations of chips, candy, individually bottled or canned drinks (we would like all items to be free for students if possible….donations can be dropped off in the front office marked for the Valentine’s Dance)
  3. Volunteers to help decorate!

If you can help with any of these needs, please contact Mrs. Sheree Brown at [log in to unmask] or 850-488-6880 ext 3062 or drop donations in the front office marked for the Valentine’s Dance!

Partners: Are businesses and civic organizations that partner as a group with the school. Partners help us in a variety of ways, such as: sponsoring student recognition (academic and behavioral) events, sponsoring students of the month, donating items for teacher appreciation, judging Tropicana Speech and History Fair, etc. If you are part of a business or civic organization that would like to partner with Fairview, please let me know.

Mentors: Are individuals that commit to work with a Fairview student for one hour every week. Mentors help students in LOTS of areas from math and reading to organization and music. If you can commit to one hour each week, we would LOVE to have you!

Volunteers: Are individuals that lend us a hand when we need them for tasks like: Fall & Spring Festival, preparing mail outs for parents, organizing the media center, making copies, concerts, etc. We are always in need of extra hands…if you can lend us yours, please let us know!

For more information about each of these programs and the district’s guidelines, please visit: https://www.leonschools.net/Page/23103 If you would like to become a partner, mentor or volunteer, please reach out to our coordinator, Mrs. Sheree Brown at [log in to unmask] or 850-499-6880 ext 3062.

Parents/Students: A mentor is a person that comes to Fairview once a week for an hour. They can help you catch up in a class you may be behind in or study for a particular class, help you get ready for upcoming tests, or just help you get organized. If you are interested in meeting with a mentor once a week, please see Mrs. Sheree Brown in the media center for a permission letter. [log in to unmask]

FEV Tutor is a new instructional support offered to all LCS Students! This service is an online instructional and tutoring service for any LCS student in grades 3-12. It has the potential to be a very helpful tool for students who have to quarantine. This layer of support allows students to schedule live instruction DURING the school day and/or after hours to work on assignments from THEIR teachers. In addition, any student in need of tutoring may also get help “on demand”. Once students log in through ClassLInk and click on the tile, they will see an “On Demand” button and a “Schedule” button. By clicking on the On Demand button, a student will be routed to a tutor to assist them immediately. By clicking the button to schedule assistance the student can pick a date and time to work that works for them for support.

Both services are available 24 hours a day/7 days a week. The ClassLink tile has been pushed out and should be available to students in grades 3-12.  Please see attached handouts for more information.

Reminders for Morning Drop Off

Supervision is available for students beginning at 8:45 a.m. Please do not drop your students off before that time – students are not permitted on campus until the 8:45 a.m. bell.  If you need before school care (beginning at 7:00 a.m.), you can contact Mr. Fletcher for more information.

12 X 18 Right Turn Only Sign - 3M's Engineer Grade Sheeting - Parking Lot Sign - A Real Sign - 10 Year 3M Warranty: Amazon.com: Industrial & ScientificAfternoon Dismissal

Please be patient with our transportation department as they are navigating routes and traffic.  The Fairview Bus Routes are attached – reviewing your child’s route with them ensures a stress-free morning and afternoon pick-up/drop off.   If your child is a car rider in the afternoon, please note that you must use a RIGHT TURN ONLY on to Zillah Street in order to leave campus.  The flow of our parent pick up lane does not permit for a left turn to leave campus.  Students that are on campus after 4:15 p.m. that are not participating in a supervised after-school event are strongly encouraged to head to the Jack McLean Community Center where supervision is provided after 4:15 p.m..
