Who do I need to contact if my student is absent for ANY reason?
In order to get your student’s absence excused, please email [log in to unmask].
You do not need to contact teachers directly, but you are welcome to if you would like.
What if my student goes to the clinic with symptoms of COVID?
Students that are sent to the clinic will be evaluated by the clinic staff for the following symptoms of COVID (see below). If a student is found to be symptomatic, they will be sent
home. We ask that you immediately come and pick up your student from SCMS when you are called by the SCMS clinic and asked to pick your child up. A lengthy wait time is not fair to your child, or to others within in our school family. Please make sure that
at least 2 contacts are posted for your child in Focus. Further health evaluation and guidance will be the parent’s responsibility.
Symptoms to watch for include headache, congestion/runny nose, sore throat, fatigue, muscle or body aches, fever (100.4 or higher), chills, cough, Nausea/vomiting, shortness of breath
or difficulty breathing, new loss of taste or smell, diarrhea.
What do I do if my student tests positive for COVID?
Students that are positive with COVID must remain out of school for 10 days (date of test is considered day 0) with two options for an early return:

“Every time I am asked what is the most important job in the world, I always answer teacher! Teachers are the people who hand out life chances for everyone… Our society needs
to value the fact that quality teachers inform and shape quality students who in the future become quality community members. This is what education is all about.”
