Good morning.

Over the past few days, we have received updates regarding health and safety procedures at the school level.  With the safety of our students and staff at the top of our list of priorities, I want to assure everyone that many of the preventative measures we have had in place over the past two years will continue.  This includes social distancing, frequent hand washing, additional cleaning and disinfecting, and teaching students proper healthy practices.

There has been an update to the state and county procedures regarding COVID quarantining and reporting.  I have included these updates below.  I understand there have been numerous changes to these procedures throughout the year, based on the current health climate at that time.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the office for clarification.

Based on our most recent information-

-          Students are not required to wear a mask (But strongly encouraged), employees are required to wear a mask when six feet social distancing cannot be maintained, and visitors must wear a mask when on campus.

-          Positive students can return when

o   Receive a negative test result and be symptom free (Please send to [log in to unmask]) OR

o   Quarantine for 10 days from the onset of symptoms or the positive test, whichever was first. OR

o   Receive a doctor’s note confirming an appropriate return (Please send to [log in to unmask])

-          There are no required formal quarantine or contact tracing procedures for close contacts, this includes positives in the household.

o   Anyone who has been in close contact with a positive case should self-quarantine if they are exhibiting symptoms.

o   Students must remain home if there is a pending test result.

-          Classrooms with a positive case will receive a notification letter and the case will be reported to the district for a dashboard update.

As we continue to experience an increase in positive cases in Tallahassee, we ask that all families carefully monitor their student’s health.  If a student exhibits any of the symptoms below, please have them remain home until their symptoms improve.  Please have students remain home if they are waiting on a test result and notify the front office if a student tests positive.  Please utilize our [log in to unmask] e-mail for this communication.

Thank you, have a great day.
