Good afternoon, Yellow Jackets!

Last night, the school board modified some of their COVID health and safety procedures.  These changes will begin on Tuesday, 10/19.  Please see a summary of changes below.

-          Leon County employee masking, school contact tracing, and quarantine procedures for all staff and students will remain the same.

-          Students will be required to wear a mask when indoors and six feet social distancing cannot be maintained, but parent opt-out letters will now be accepted.  No doctor signature will be required.  Previous letters do not need to be resubmitted.  Any new requests should be e-mailed directly to the principal.

-          Students will be required to mask, or remain home, when in quarantine, regardless of their opt-out choice.  Specific information will be provided by administration if a close contact occurs.

-          Schools may begin planning and participating in field trips.

-          Volunteers and mentors will be allowed on campus.  General visitors and parents must still remain off campus.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.  Leon County Schools plans to continue to revisit and evaluate their policies and procedures related to COVID as the local climate changes.  For more information, please visit https://www.leonschools.net/domain/8891

Have a great night!
