We will have additional Champions coaches helping on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week and developing workouts suited for the lesson and unit that we are teaching. This will give all of our
students an upper-hand with a few minutes carved out of each class to focus on sports specific exercises tailored to whatever sport lesson we are currently working in. This will be part of our curriculum and will help our Cardinals on many levels.
This week I will be sending a Champions In-School Program form home with all of our COE students to fill out and return back to school. For more information about the Champions program go to
www.mychampions.com
and learn about the many benefit the program gives our students. There is a registration page that we would like all of our students to participate in. Data is collected and you can track your students’ progress in an online database.
There are thousands of students in the Leon County Area that have participated in the champions program. The benefits can be seen on the field and in the classroom. Ten years ago, I ran the Champions
program here at Canopy Oaks afterschool. We reached just a handful of students. Now we are one of a few schools that has the opportunity to integrate this into our PE program during school and reach all of our students.
Thank You,
Coach McB
