Welcome Cobb Cubs!
As the beginning of the new year approaches, I wanted to share several important dates and documents with you.
Friday, August 6th – 10:30 – 12:30 – Orientation
During this time, you can walk your schedule, update your contact information in FOCUS, gather information on transportation, and meet the faculty and administration. There is no set program during this time – you are welcome to stop in
at any point during the orientation. Please plan on spending 30 – 45 minutes to fully gather all information.
Wednesday, August 11th – First Day of School
Supervision is provided from 8:45am until 4:20pm. If your student needs care before or after that time, we offer a fee-based EDEP program. Those forms are attached and you may email
Wendi Davis with any questions about the program.
Summer Reading is not required but is encouraged at Cobb. We posted the Sunshine State Young Reader list from the Florida Department of Education. Students are encouraged to read as many books from this list as possible. Those that
have read at least one by the end of the first week of school will be able to receive their first reward during their English/Language Arts class. Rewards throughout the year are provided by Jacki West, our media specialist. I have attached those books again
to this e-mail.
School Supplies are minimal, as the students will be turning in many things digitally through our 1:1 Chromebook program. Students are required to carry these devices in a bookbag or large purse – they may not carry them from class
to class in their hands. I have attached the school supply list – please not our policy about wired headphones.
School Policies are also attached. There are a few I want to highlight:
Keeping up with important information can happen in several ways:
If you have any other questions, please let us know. We are super excited to serve your family in the upcoming school year.
