Parents/Guardians,

Each year the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches operates three overnight residential summer camps for youth ages 10-15.

•The purpose of these camps is to provide a wholesome atmosphere and positive camping experience for boys and girls.

•While at camp youth experience many different camping activities. Canoeing, archery, swimming, and many other recreational activities allow them the opportunity to build basic teamwork and peer communication skills.

•The camps also provide an opportunity for Deputy Sheriffs and other Law Enforcement Volunteers to get personally involved with the youngsters to form positive, healthy relationships.

•Campers live among their peers, learning how to share and function properly within a group setting. Every day contains a healthy balance between work and play, proving a valuable lesson for maturing youth.

•This program is available to families at NO COST.

•Each of the 67 Florida counties are assigned a location for services. Leon County is assigned to the newest camp location, Camp Sorensen, in Nassau County. Session dates for Leon County are July 12th-19th.

Attached is the camp flyer as well and the youth ranch link at https://www.youthranches.org/our-services/summer-camps. If there are any questions, the parents can contact our SRD, Deputy Brian Falstrom, directly at 850-617-5353.

Best Regards,
