Dear Riley Community,
Today we received notice that one of our students tested positive for COVID-19. The Health Department will contact any families if it is necessary for
students or staff members to quarantine. The Department of Health identifies a significant exposure as being in contact with someone 48-72 hours before they develop symptoms or test positive. A significant exposure means you have been within 6 feet of a person
for 15 minutes or more with or without a mask on. Anyone determined to have had a significant exposure will be told to quarantine for 14 days, regardless of whether they test negative on a COVID-19 test of their own.
We want to continue to highlight the importance of everyone doing their part to minimize the spread of this virus:
1.
Keep your students home when they are sick.
2.
Keep your students home while
anyone in the household is awaiting COVID-19 test results.
3.
Keep things clean and sanitized.
4.
Utilize proper hand washing.
5.
Wear masks.
6.
Maintain social distancing.
We take our commitment to your child’s safety seriously and are working closely with the Leon County Health Department to follow CDC guidelines and best practices
during this time. For more information about the student and family protocol please visit https://www.leonschools.net/Page/49637. If
you have further questions do not hesitate to reach out to me.
Sincerely,
April Knight
