Dear Griffin Family,

In the wake of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School incident there have been some threats to nearby schools in the area.  None of these threats have been credible, however all incidents have been taken seriously.  Leon County Schools Safety and Security Office works closely with local Law Enforcement to ensure the safety of our students.

We continue to encourage our students to talk to an adult if they see or hear suspicious behavior… “See something, say something!”  At this time we have no reason to believe that our school is in any danger.  We do have a safety plan in place at Griffin Middle School.  Through out the school year we have drills to practice this plan to ensure our staff and students are familiar with the procedures.

As always if you have concerns, please do not hesitate to contact a Griffin administrator.
