Dear Parents/Guardians of Sealey Superstars,

Please see the attached documents for information related to the upcoming solar eclipse on Monday, Aug. 21. Due to safety concerns, Leon County Schools is altering dismissal times for schools. Elementary schools will have a delayed dismissal, instead of dismissing at 2:50pm, student dismissal will occur at 3:30pm that day. In addition to the delayed dismissal, Sealey has ordered “eclipse  glasses” for each student. If you would like to check your students out early, normal check out procedures will be followed, come to the front office and we will contact the classroom to have your child sent to the office. Because of the intensity of the eclipse as the afternoon progresses until about 4:00pm, it would be preferred if you checked your student out by 1:00pm. We will excuse early check-outs that day. Our afterschool EDEP program will have indoor activities until 4:00pm.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation regarding these changes for Monday, Aug. 21. This is an exciting event, but we do want to keep our students safe!
