---A note of thanks and congratulations to all:

On behalf of the Leon County School Board, I’d like to congratulate you for being part of another successful school year.

In my visits to school campuses this past year, I observed staff members working hard and students participating in rigorous academic studies. I have been energized by athletic competitions and inspired by musical and theatrical performances. I am honored to have been a small part of your educational journey.

To the parents, families, volunteers, mentors, tutors, teachers, counselors, media specialists, nurses, coaches, school resource deputies, and administrators who helped our students succeed -- THANK YOU!  To the bus drivers who safely transported our children and the cafeteria personnel who helped nourish our children -- THANK YOU!  To the district team and others who supported students and instructional staff from behind the scenes -- THANK YOU!   You have served our schools in countless ways and we simply could not do it without you.

Students, I wish you well in the next phase of your journey.  Whether you are moving to the next grade, starting a new school, attending college, entering the workforce, or joining the military, there are many opportunities waiting for you.   It may be difficult to say goodbye to your classmates, but know that this is all part of your life’s journey.  New friends, experiences, and adventures will enrich your life and help you grow stronger and wiser.

Please remember to thank your teachers and family for the support they have provided in helping you reach this milestone.  They are tireless in their endeavors to nurture you because they want you to reach your full potential.

On behalf of the School Board of Leon County, THANK YOU for making our district one of the best in the nation.  We wish you a safe and enjoyable summer and a bright future.

Warmest regards,

DeeDee Rasmussen, Chair

Leon County School Board
