Please contact Ms. Mosley if you would like to help with either of these magnet events on February 6th.

Ways to help—

·       Donate/bake refreshments  (dance)

·       Make/help with decorations

·       Your choice

Moms—the breakfast is looking pretty full but it appears that dads are being a bit shy.  Please offer your encouragement to nudge them out the door on Thursday evening!

Please know that EITHER OR BOTH parents are welcome at BOTH events but students MUST have an adult chaperone!

Brundibár Auditions

Auditions for the all-school musical, Brundibár, are this week!  This year’s production is a historical piece dating from WW2.  Brundibár is a historically and culturally significant operetta dating from 1939. Originally performed on Hitler’s orders to appease the concerns of the International Red Cross regarding the atrocities being committed against the citizens of Europe, Brundibár was performed 55 times at Thereseinstadt, a concentration camp created to house artists and children.  The irony of the operetta is that the story is a testament to bravery and unity in the face of adversity - a message Hitler should never have sanctioned.

We are fortunate that we will be joined by the last living survivor of the original production, Ela Weissberger.  This production will span multiple grades and even schools and will be the largest production Cobb has ever mounted.  We have written a grant to defray the cost of the production and are looking for generous donors to support our efforts.  If you would like to donate, please follow the link below or contact Jeannine Meis at [log in to unmask].

Girls will audition Monday through Wednesday at 8:30am in room 34 and boys will sing on Friday.  All auditioning students will perform “Sunrise, Sunset” from Fiddler on the Roof.   See Mrs. Meis for a copy of the music or with any questions.  The cast list will be posted on Tuesday, 2/11.
