At the close of another school week—
We have all settled in nicely and by now you should have begun to see homework. You may have even seen a few schedule changes for your child as we work to find the optimum fit. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we
have tweaked and polished!
There are a few dates to add to your calendar:
- We will have Open House on September 13 at 6:00 PM. At that time, you will have the opportunity to meet your child’s teacher as you follow their class schedule.
- On that same evening at 5:30, there will be a parent meeting for those eighth grade students who plan to attend the Washington DC field trip. We always look forward to that trip and know that many of you start planning for it when your child enters Cobb
as a sixth grader. For more information contact Liz Cockrell at cockrelll@leonschools.net .
- The following week you will have another opportunity to visit Cobb as we celebrate Magnet Parent Night at 5:30. At that time we will talk about many things including the sixth and seventh grade magnet field trips. That event will be held in the lunchroom.
Expect light refreshments!
- On the morning of September 13th, sixth graders will have health screenings as we work to keep our cubs healthy.
There are two letters attached to this email. One contains information about high school end of course (EOC) exams. The other contains important information about middle school students taking high school classes. While your child
may not be enrolled high school courses yet, these letters are packed with rich information to help you and your child as you plan their future academia.
Volleyball, football and cross-country are up and rolling—go Cobb Cubs!
As always~~have a family-fun-filled extended weekend!
