What is it? The Penny Harvest is a year-long service –learning program that
engages students in community building, character education, and
leadership.

The penny harvest starts in September, when students, supported by their
families and community, collect idle pennies.  It continues in January,
when Penny Harvest student leaders at each school sit on a Philanthropy
roundtable and allocate the money they raised-typically $1,000 – to make
grants and fund student led service-learning projects to help their
communities.

Can we take checks, cash and other coins?  Yes, you can put all types of
dominations of coins in the sacks and they will be sorted.  If you cash/or
check contribution they should be separated out.  All check should be
written to Florida State University Foundation (FASS) they are
