Location
Turkey Trot is back at SouthWood! The move to
SouthWood was a huge success and the races are
returning to the rolling hills and lakes of
SouthWood. This picturesque setting is just the
place to make your Thanksgiving something special.
GWTC & CHP Working Together
Turkey Trot is pleased to continue its partnership to
promote health and fitness with Capital Health Plan
as presenting sponsor. Capital Health Plan wants to
get the message out to Tallahassee that participation
means fitness and fitness means health. Capital
Heath Plan has put its money where its mouth is
with a very generous sponsorship.
Music Fest
This year we kick off our celebration on November
21, 2004 at 3:30 at the American Legion Hall on
Lake Ella with a Music Fest. Come pick up your
race packet, listen to music orchestrated by Bill
McGuire, bring contributions and pledges for
Refuge House, The Shelter or the Chenoweth Fund
and get in the Turkey Trot spirit.
Community Life Line
Funds from the Turkey Trot races go to support a
number of great causes in our Community: (1) The
Refuge House; (2) The Shelter; (3) Kent Vann
Partners in Excellence; and (4) Gulf Winds Track
Club. Bring your contributions of nonperishable
food, clothes or toiletry items to the race and we
will get them delivered to someone who needs
them.
The Refuge House is a shelter for victims of
domestic and sexual violence, including children.
The Refuge House serves eight North Florida
counties. The Shelter provides accomodations and
critical services for those in need.

Awards/Team Competition
Awards will be given to the top two finishers, male
and female, for each race. Awards will also be
presented to the top two teams in the 5K, 10K and
15K. In addition, all runners participating on a
team will receive a commemorative award. Teams
can have as many as five members with the top four
scores counting. The results will be age-and-sex
graded. Charts will be provided at the scoring table
to enable adjustments for your time based on your
age and sex. Each team must have a team
CAPTAIN who is responsible for accurately
recording the team’s score.
Finish Line & Results

bottom. Once you cross the finish line this tag will
be removed and you will receive a card which
shows your place. Please write your name, team
name, and finishing time on the card. Please make
sure this card gets turned in at the results table. If
you are on a team, have your team captain complete the team
form and turn it in at the results table. We want to
provide complete results information on the
GWTC home page http://www.gulfwinds.org SO
PLEASE TURN IN YOUR FINISH CARD.
Kent Vann Partners In Excellence Award
