Raa's Annual Black History Assembly will be held this Friday, Feb. 16th
@
9:30 in the gym.

Due to low yearbook purchases, if the students do not purchase their
yearbooks in advance, chances are there will NOT be many extras. The
yearbook is on sale from 8:45--9:10, Mondays, Tuesdays, and
Fridays in front of the Business Technology Education Lab. The cost of
the
yearbook is $40.

Mathcounts Practice is every Friday morning, room 1 @ 8:30 a.m. Until
9:20
a.m.  Everyone is welcome.

Raa t-shirts are $15 for the blue ones and $14 for the white ones...get
them
while supplies last.

Student Council News: a DANCE - March 9th called Spring Bash Dance!
All tickets are $4.00.  Pre-paid only.
Students may purchase tickets on Monday and Tuesdays.  (March
5,6,7th) Students names (any student that purchases their ticket during
the
first three days of pre-sale) will be entered into a drawing (at the
dance)
for several free yearbooks.
Bracelets will be delivered to homerooms Friday before the dance.  Grade
levels will have one color bracelet. CELEBRATE the end of
FCAT!  Come to the dance.

Raa's student council is also hosting a charity event coming up called
"CAN
THE PRINCIPAL"!  It will be Raa's attempt to fill up the Principal's
office
with as many canned goods as possible for the 2nd Harvest Food Bank.
The
goal is to force Mrs. Keen out of her office.  The event will be held
April
2nd-6th. Join us in CANNING MRS. KEEN!!

REMEMBER -- FCAT IS ON THE HORIZON--
Want to see what an FCAT test looks like?? Go to the Florida Department
of Education website-- old FCATS are available for download-- also
parents for your assistance- the answer key is available for download
(whew!!)

DO YOU READ WITH YOUR STUDENT-- it is a great way to open up dialog.
There are many sources for books appropriate to middle school interests
and reading levels.  For 6th graders we have a parent/student book club
which meets in the evening.  Contact Mrs. Madsen for more details.
