Test Taking Strategies

1. Read all directions and questions carefully.

2. Know the directions before you take the test.

3. Make sure that your answer matches everything that the question is
asking you.

4. Look for key words and phrases. Use what you know to figure things out.

5. Budget your time, don’t spend too much time on one question.

6. Use the process of elimination. Your chances of choosing the correct
answer will increase if you can narrow you choices down to two.

7. Always choose the answer that best fits the question. Don’t read into
the question!

8. Don’t wait until the day before the test. Set a schedule so that your
body will get adjusted to sleep and eating patterns before the test.

9. Mark your answer sheet neatly.

10. When studying, focus on what you don’t know or understand before the
test.

11. Re-read if you are not sure.

12. Relax! Be confident about your answers!
