As you may have heard by now, the Florida Department of Education issued an executive order recently regarding the state assessment program. These assessments, the Florida Standards Assessments (FSA), the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test 2.0 (FCAT 2.0), and the Florida Standards Alternate Assessment (FSAA), are typically administered each Spring.

Because of the Pandemic, these assessments were waived in Spring 2020. However, the FLDOE has affirmed that the assessment program will be reinstated for Spring 2021. The Department of Education has expanded the testing windows to allow for the schools and school districts to plan for the implementation of these assessments.

Each of our schools will be develop a plan that implements these assessments based on several criteria including time, personnel, and facility factors. The schools will develop plans for all students- those who learn in person and those students who are learning remotely.

It is important to note that, at this time, the Florida Department of Education does not allow for the remote administration of the FSA, FCAT 2.0, or FSAA. School personnel will develop plans for test administration aligned to LCS practices and procedures. The Schools testing coordinator (Dr. Hatcher) and Assistant Principal (Ms. Bullard), will be the point of contact regarding the state assessment program. They can be reached at 850-617-6161 or by email at, [log in to unmask] or [log in to unmask]
