Dear Parents,

I wanted to take a moment to offer my gratitude and appreciation to you, our parents, for working with your children on the importance of wearing a mask while in school. I have spent every morning the past three weeks visiting each one of our schools and I have yet to see any student—at any school—at any level—acting irresponsibly or not wearing a mask.

I have worked with young adults for more than three decades and have consistently challenged our students to not only better themselves academically but to become better people. In August, I held several Zoom and Facebook meetings with student leaders and asked them to please follow the health and safety guidelines and encouraged them to ask their classmates to do the same.

I am proud to report that from kindergartners to seniors in high school, our students, your children, have stepped up and are absolutely doing the right thing. They have put the safety of all above their personal discomfort of wearing a mask.

For this effort all of us should be extremely proud—especially you!

Sincerely,

Rocky Hanna
