STUDENTS SOAR ON FCAT AND RECEIVE A SCHOOL GRADE OF “A” AGAIN!

School grades were announced today by the Commissioner of Education.  Based
on our scores on the Florida Comprehensive Assessments Tests (FCAT), Hawks
Rise has received an “A” once again!  The FCAT tests are given in all public
elementary schools in Florida to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders.  Reading and math
are now tested at all three grade levels, and writing is tested in 4th grade.

Our students did exceptionally well this year.  Based on the mean scale
scores, our students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades ranked #1 in Leon County in
reading.  All three grade levels also placed in the top ten schools in
Florida in both reading and math, and our 3rd and 5th graders were ranked #1
in math for the entire state of Florida!  With over 1700 public elementary
schools in the state, this is quite an accomplishment.

Although the FCAT tests are given in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, our students'
scores reflect the accumulation of all the teaching and learning throughout
all the years....PreK through 5th grade.  This high level of achievement also
reflects the support of our entire Hawks Rise family.  Many, many thanks to
