Grandparents are invited to come for one free lunch with their grandchild or
grandchildren Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, April 21 - 23. We appreciate all
our families do to make Hawks Rise a great school, and we look forward to
celebrating the special role of grandparents each year.

The children are looking forward to sharing their grandparents with their
friends. When their grandparents visit, they may sit with their classmates
or at one of the extra tables that will be set up on the courtyard. When
grandparents arrive on campus, they should come to the front office to sign
in, receive their lunch ticket and get a name tag.

We will call the grandchildren to come to the office to meet their
grandparents and walk them to the cafeteria. If a grandparent has more than
one grandchild in the school, we will make special arrangements so they may
all eat together at the same time. Or grandparents may choose to eat with
one grandchild and plan to sit and visit with another at their lunch time.
They may even decide to save part of their lunch or have tea or dessert with
them.

In order to plan for the proper amount of food, reservation forms are being
sent home with students, and should be returned by Monday, April 14 to your
child's teacher (or to one of your children's teachers if you have more than
one student at Hawks Rise). The form also has a copy of our lunchroom
schedule and the menus for those days.

Local photographer Joan Strickland will be available on the stage in the
cafeteria those days during the lunch hours to take pictures of grandparents
and their grandchildren for a reasonable fee. You might want to plan for an
intergenerational family photo to be taken. This is done just as a service
for families. It is not required, and the school does not receive anything
from the sale of these pictures.
