Youth for Understanding – National Scholarships – Scholarships are
available for students interested in participating in an exchange program.
Visit www.yfu-usa.org or call 1-800-Teenage for an application and
additional information.

12/10/04 – 2/1/05
Johnson & Wales University – There are several scholarships available to
students who plan on attending Johnson & Whales University.  See Mrs. Rudd
for details.

1/26/05 “Erskine Fellows” at Erskine College – This is a program for
juniors who might be interested in attending Erskine College.  Students
need to be in the top 10% of their class and have a minimum 1100 old
PSAT/SAT score or a 1650 new PSAT/SAT score.  The scholarship is worth
$1000.

1/28/05 FSU – Service Scholar Program – FSU is offering $2,000 renewable
scholarships for upcoming freshmen with a strong community service
background. Applications can be found at
www.fsu.edu/~service/servschool.html or in the guidance office.

1/28/05 J. Ollie Edmunds Distinguished Scholarship (Stetson University) –
This scholarship is for students going to Stetson University.  The
scholarship covers full undergraduate tuition, fees, and on campus room and
board for four years.  Two seniors can be nominated per school.  Students
must have a 3.5 GPA and be in the top 5% of the senior class.  Minimum test
scores SAT 1350 and ACT 30.

1/28/05 Creative Story Writing Contest – Students have an opportunity to
win $20 - $50 for writing a short story (500 words or less).

1/31/05 FAMU Scholarships – There are many scholarships available to
students going to FAMU.  Scholarship amounts range from $500 - $5,000.
There is more information available in the Guidance office.

1/31/05 2005 Congress-Bundestag Vocational Youth Exchange Scholarship
Program – This program provides an opportunity for graduating seniors who
are enrolled in vocational courses to spend one year in Germany.  Three
students can be nominated per school.  Visit www.nacelopendoor.org for more
information.

1/31/05 Florida Retired Educators Foundation – This scholarship is
available to seniors who are interested in the teaching profession.  Visit
www.frea.org for additional information.

1/31/05 Morehouse College – Upward Bound Math/Science Regional Institute –
This is a summer program for 10th and 11th grade students.  Students must
have a 3.0 GPA and be on free/reduced lunch.

2/1/05 Youth Leadership Tallahassee (YLT) – This program is for current
10th grade students (students will participate in YLT during their junior
year).  Students must have a 2.5 GPA.  This program is designed for
students to network with other high school students while doing activities
throughout the Tallahassee community.

2/1/05 The Randolph-Macon College Presidential Scholars Program – Randolph-
Macon College (Ashland, Virginia) awards scholarships ranging from $5,000 -
$15,000 to students who attend their school.  Recipients typically have an
1100 SAT score and are in the top 25% in their class.  Students need to
apply to Randolph-Macon College by February 1st.

2/1/05 National Wild Turkey Federation – This scholarship is for seniors
with at least 3.0 GPA.  Scholarship can range from $250 - $10,000.  Visit

2/1/05 Florida Southern College – Florida Southern College will honor
Bright Futures 100% scholarship and give additional money.  Students must
apply to Florida Southern by 2/1/05.

2/1/05 Sam Walton Community Scholarship – This scholarship is available to
seniors.  Scholarship amount is $1,000 - $25,000.  Students can get more
information from www.walmartfoundation.org or
www.scholarshipadministrators.net.  Students need to use store code 1408.

2/1/05 Pace Scholars Award (UWF) – The University of West Florida offers a
scholarship (worth $20,000) to a student who has been accepted.  Students
who apply need to have a 3.0 GPA and be in the top 5% of their class.

2/1/05 Florida Engineering Society High School Scholarship Program – This
scholarship is for students who will be enrolling in an engineering
program.  Students must seniors with a 3.5 GPA and minimum test scores
(SAT: 600 (math) 500 (verbal); ACT 26 (math), 21 (English).  Visit

2/1/05 Henry Wells Scholars Program -   A scholarship is available to
seniors who wish to attend Wells College.    Students must have a 3.0 GPA,
1150 SAT or 26 ACT.  See Mrs. Rudd if you are interested.

2/1/05 Bob Hayes Invitational Track Meet, Inc – This scholarship is for
senior track athletes who plan on attending college.  Students must have at
least a 2.5 GPA.  Applications can be downloaded from www.bhitm.org.

2/1/05 Lombardi Scholarship – One senior per school can be nominated for
this scholarship.  Student must attend UF.  More information is available
at www.honors.ufl.edu/lombardi.

2/1/05 John C. Pace, Jr Scholars Award – A $20,000 ($5,000 per year over
four years) scholarship is available to a senior who is admitted to the
University of West Florida.

2/1/05 ESA Foundation – The ESA Foundation has over 30 scholarships
available to senior students.  Students must meet one of the following
qualifications: (a) 3.0 GPA; (b) in the top 25% of senior class; or (c) 22
ACT or 950 SAT scores.  More information is available at

2/4/05 Florida P.E.O Scholarship – This scholarship is available to female
students who will be attending a Florida College or University.  Applicants
must have a 3.0 GPA.

2/10/05 Volunteer Youth Team – Tallahassee Museum of History and Natural
Science – this program is for students between the ages of 14 and 17 who
have an interest in wildlife and history.  Students will have an
opportunity to earn community service hours while volunteering at the
museum.

2/11/05 Cash in on your Smarts – A $750 scholarship is available to
students between the ages of 14 – 18.  Visit www.fldfs.com for more
information.

2/15/05 National Commission for Cooperative Education – Scholarships worth
$5,000 will be awarded to seniors with a 3.5 GPA (or higher).  Scholarships
can only be used at participating NCEE Partner Colleges and Universities.

2/15/05 RMHC/HACER Scholarships – Scholarships worth $1000 are available to
Hispanic seniors for their freshman year of college.  Applications are
available in the guidance office or on-line at www.rmhc.org (click
on “scholarships” at the bottom of the screen).

2/15/05 Florida P.E.O Scholarship – This scholarship (up to $2500) provides
financial assistance for tuition and fees to qualified women during the
first two years of college/university study at a FL school.  Students with
Florida Pre-paid are not eligible.

2/15/05 Commitment to Agriculture Scholarship Program – A $1,500
scholarship is available to seniors who come from a farm family and plan to
pursue a career in the field of agriculture.  Information and applications
are available at www.monsanto.com and www.nafb.com.

2/15/05 Florida Minerals and Chemistry Council Scholarship – A $500
scholarship is available to a senior who will go to college in the state of
Florida.  Students must have a 3.0 GPA and a 1000 SAT or 21 ACT.  Visit
www.fmcc.org for additional information.

2/15/05 Sallie Mae/Brandon Teacher Scholarship – Four $1,000 scholarships
will be awarded to each state.  These scholarships are for seniors who plan
on majoring in education.

2/15/05 The Gwen Cherry Scholarship Award – There are four $500
scholarships available to students who will attend FAMU, FSU, or TCC.
Students must have a 2.5 GPA.

2/18/05 Florida Fund Foundation – A $3000 scholarship is available to a
senior who is going to FSU, FAMU, or TCC.  The student must have at least a
3.0 weighted GPA.

2/22/05 2005 All-USA Academic Team – A $2500 scholarship will be awarded to
seniors who excel in scholarship as well as in leadership roles.
